MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS IN BOXING
Boxing challenges us physically, but it also challenges us mentally. Training, competition, making weight, injuries, balancing work or school, and the pressure to perform can all affect our mental well-being.
At Boxing BC, we believe looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health. Seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Whether you’re an athlete, coach, official, volunteer, or parent, you’re encouraged to check in with yourself and others, talk openly about mental health, and reach out for help when needed.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
Some simple ways to support your mental health include:
- Get enough sleep and recovery.
- Fuel your body with good nutrition.
- Stay connected with teammates, coaches, friends, and family.
- Take breaks when you need them.
- Speak with someone you trust if you’re struggling.
- Remember that asking for help is part of being resilient.
