HOSTING AN EVENT
Amateur Boxing is an age-old sporting event. Athletes from around B.C., Canada and Internationally, train for their moment in the squared ring. The lights, the crowds (both in person or online) , the electric environment that our athletes experience all start with a Sanction Application from your club to host a show. Sanction fees are dependent on the type of show (Club Show or Tournament).
There are detailed policies regarding event registration, please read thoroughly before applying.
MAJOR TOURNAMENTS
BC Provincial Championships and BC Golden Gloves Championships will be given first priority and set to properly align with the Canadian National Championships each year.
- BC Provincials to take place ten to twelve weeks prior to the Nationals
- BC Golden Gloves to take place six to eight weeks prior to the Nationals and following the BC Provincials
- Boxing BC Tournaments to be a minimum of two days in duration
- Bids to co-host these major tournaments will be sought from the membership at least one year in advance.
MINOR TOURNAMENTS
Minor Tournaments, including BC Bronze Gloves, BC Silver Gloves, BC Emerald Gloves and BC Diamond Belt, will be given second priority.
- Bids to host these tournaments will be sought from the membership approximately 6 months in advance.
BID FOR TOURNAMENT
Bids will be evaluated based on criteria such as:
- Benefits back to Boxing BC
- Benefits to attendees
- Bids must be accompanied by sanction fees
- Priority may be given to clubs who have not hosted a major tournament in the recent past
CLUB SHOWS
Club show sanctions will not be approved more than 6 months in advance.
Only one show per weekend will be approved. Approval may be given to two shows to occur on the same day dependent on special conditions outlined in events policy. No two shows will be allowed during the same one-week period in which any Boxing BC Tournament has been approved.

REVIEW CALENDAR
To ensure that Boxing BC’s major tournaments take place at specific times of year, and that secondary tournaments and club shows are evenly distributed throughout the competitive calendar, giving all clubs fair and equal opportunity, please review the events calendar to request a date without conflict.
Please note: We do not hold shows in July, August, and December.
CONFIRM DETAILS
The more “show” you put into the event, the better it will be for both your guests and the push from the athletes.
Please connect with us for info on additional features like a DJ, announcer, liquor license, lights, etc.
APPLY ONLINE
Registration is handled online. Each application is reviewed by the Boxing BC Board and evaluated on a case by case basis.
After approval, the Show will be inputted in the Calendar of Events and a Facebook Event page can be co-hosted to help promote your event.
EVENT MEDICAL COVERAGE POLICY
All Boxing BC-sanctioned events must have two Primary Care Paramedics (PCPs) on-site at all times. This is a mandatory requirement. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in consequences, including possible event suspension or loss of sanctioning.
