HOW TO REGISTER
JOIN A CLUB
All coaches must be associated with a chartered club.
COMPLETED CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK
All Boxing BC coaches shall provide a criminal record check upon initial registration and every three years thereafter for convictions of crimes against children and/or convictions of sexual assaults. The information may be obtained through Boxing BC or a local RCMP office. This form is to be submitted with the membership application.
COMPLETED MAKING ETHICAL DECISIONS COURSE AND ONLINE EVALUATION
All Boxing BC coaches are required to have completed the MED (Making Ethical Decisions) Course and Online Evaluation.

COMPLETED COACHING COURSE
Required Course: Competition Introduction
Coaches holding an “In Training” status in the Competition Introduction course are eligible to serve as the top-end corner at Boxing BC club shows.
Please note that higher certification levels are required for Provincial and National Championships. Depending on the event and year, coaches must hold “Trained” or “Certified” status, along with completion of any additional required courses.

REGISTER ONLINE
Registration is handled online. You will be asked to submit a scanned copy of your criminal record check if this is a new registration.
Payment is handled online via credit card. Please check fee schedule.
Registration years run September 1st to August 31st annually. Memberships are valid for this period and must be renewed every September.
BECOMING A COACH
Coaches who wish to be certified via the National Coaching Certification Program and Boxing BC must be registered.
The coaching pathway for Boxing BC and Boxing Canada follows the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) requirements. Specific requirements for coaching pathways can be found online at coach.ca and on each coaches “Locker” which is an online database of competed workshops, certification levels, requirements, pathways.

COACHING PATHWAY
Upon completing the necessary workshop provided by an NCCP Learning Facilitator, a coach can obtain a TRAINED status (for example, after taking the Competition Introduction workshop, a coach is Competition Introduction TRAINED).
In order to become a CERTIFIED coach in each pathway, coaches have to be evaluated by a NCCP Learning Facilitator following the completion of a workshop.
ALL coaching pathways require the completion of the Making Ethical Decisions (MED) online course, and therefore it is suggested coaches complete this on their own.

FAQ
Yes, NCCP is working on transferring all certifications from the old system (Level 1, 2, 3 etc.) to the new system. Check “The Locker” on coach.ca to confirm your certification.
Yes, Boxing BC is looking to offer NCCP workshops for coaching development, please keep an eye out on the Courses page and on our social media for updates on upcoming courses.
All coaches should complete the Making Ethical Decisions (MED) online module from coach.ca and be either “Trained” or “Certified” in either the Instruction-Beginner Course (club show-level) or the Competition-Introduction Course (Provincial level).
